Our Easter Tradition…

It wouldn’t be Easter without hot cross buns, which is why this year Chester Boyd and It’s The Agency are teaming up again for what has become something of an Easter tradition – donating hot cross buns to St Bartholomew the Great.

It’s traditional to eat warm hot cross buns on Good Friday. Their combination of spicy, sweet and fruit flavours makes them a perfect treat for breakfast or afternoon tea. The pastry cross marking the top is symbolic of the cross that Jesus was martyred on. Traditionally they were eaten at breakfast time hot from the oven and were once sold by street vendors, who’d sing:

“hot cross buns,
hot cross buns,
one a penny,
two a penny,
hot cross buns”
